Skydiving offers you the opportunity to live life to its fullest. The Atlanta Skydiving Center experience is like no other! At ASC you will be accompanied on your skydive by the most enthusiastic skydive professionals in Georgia skydiving! Use the information provided below to choose which first jump you wish to make at ASC.
To make any skydive you must be at least 18 years of age and weigh 285 lbs or less.
Tandem Skydiving is the most popular first jump as it requires a minimal amount of training (less than an hour) while maintaining a high degree of safety. You are attached to the front of your instructor's harness for the entire skydive and parachute ride. Your jump will include 70 seconds of freefall followed by a canopy ride that lasts anywhere from 7 to 9 minutes. You will be encouraged to steer the parachute and should you request you may also do flips, turns (steer yourself) in freefall! We highly recommend this method of enjoying your first skydive!
AFF is the most advanced method of training individuals to skydive. Before your first jump you will attend a training class that usually runs about 6 hours. This course will teach you the fundamentals of skydiving. Your jump is made in the company of two USPA rated AFF Jump masters who provide direct assistance during the exit and freefall. You will have the opportunity to deploy your pilot chute, which will release your main canopy. Once your parachute is deployed, you will control a solo parachute descent back to the drop zone with some assistance from the Atlanta Skydiving Center staff, via use of our ground to air communication system.
